Where to put your black box
It is important that you put your black recycling box where it is clearly visible and accessible at the front edge of your property by 6am on your collection day. This allows the recycling crew to collect your box easily, and helps to speed up the collection rounds.
If no one in your household can lift your black recycling box you can request an assisted collection by calling Waltham Forest Direct on 020 8496 3000.
How to recycle cardboard
Cardboard must be flattened, folded or cut down to fit in your black recycling box. If pieces of cardboard are too large they cannot be collected by our recycling vehicles. The maximum size of cardboard that can be collected is 28in x 18in x 9in, or, 71cm x 45cm x 23cm.
You can take larger pieces of cardboard to one of Waltham Forest’s three recycling centres
Alternatively, you can request a special collection for large pieces of cardboard.
