Waltham Forest Council would like all new large construction sites to be signed up to the national Considerate Constructors scheme before they start work in the borough.

Signing up to the national scheme ensures that construction sites, some often in residential areas or business districts, present a positive image of neighbourliness and an awareness of local environmental issues, including:

Constructors

Signing up to the National Considerate Constructors Scheme is simple and will provide you with regular information on the scheme, and ways in which a site should be considerate. Once you have signed up to the national scheme you will receive a pack explaining the scheme and posters for your site.

Registered sites will be monitored against the Site Code of Considerate Practice, it is designed to encourage performance beyond statutory requirements.

While you are working in Waltham Forest, Waltham Forest Council would like to ensure that you meet the requirements of the scheme, and offers advice and information to help you do this. See links above.

Be aware of the environmental impact of your site and minimise as far as possible the effects of noise, light and air pollution.

Residents/businesses affected by a construction site

All construction sites/companies that have signed up to the scheme will display a scheme poster. If you have a complaint about one of these please visit the national construction site

If the site/company has not registered with the national scheme and you would like to make a complaint please contact Waltham Forest Direct
