Walthamstow (Queens Road) Cemetery, Queens Road, Walthamstow, E17 8QP

The cemetery, which covers 11 acres, opened in October 1872. It was started by the Walthamstow Burial Board who had the two chapels and belfry, together with the lodge, coroner's court and sundry buildings erected.

The cemetery is now full, except for the re-opening of family plots.

Many of the family graves have now been neglected for years and it is envisaged that, subject to legal requirements, these memorials are removed to allow the improvement of the cemetery.

Opening and closing times

The Council reserve the right to limit public entry or to close the cemeteries at any time. Children under 15 years will only be admitted to the cemeteries when accompanied by an adult. Dogs, with the exception of Guide Dogs, are not allowed.
