Planning Portal
The Planning Portal is a national on-line resource set up to help anyone who wants to know more about the planning process in England and Wales. The London Borough of Waltham Forest is pleased to partner with the Planning Portal to provide the following online planning tools:
- Planning On-line tools A selection of tools to calculate volume of proposed developments, required fees and to give information about planning regulations.
- Guide to Planning: A brief introduction to the planning system and some explanation of what planning is for and why it is important to us all. This section of the Planning Portal is intended for both householders and business people. It explains why planning controls are necessary and how decisions are made.
- Planning applications: Create a planning application and send it electronically to us along with any attachments, or complete the forms on your computer then print and send them by post as part of a traditional paper application. To use this service you will need to register with the Planning Portal and create a User Name and Password.
- Appeals: Provides information and guidance on the Appeals process. If you seek permission to carry out works to your property and your application isn't decided within a set period, or you get a decision from your local council that you disagree with, you have a right to appeal. The Planning Inspectorate administers all appeals.
- Development plans and maps: The local Development Plan has a strong influence on the way your area will change. Discover more about development plans and how they affect you. Learn more about how they are prepared. Learn how you can have a say in the preparation of your local development plan.
- Policy and research: aimed at professional planners, lawyers, students, academics and others with an in-depth interest in town and country planning. You can obtain information on many issues including the Government’s Planning Reform Programme, Parliamentary answers and statements on planning matters and you can view copies of Planning Policy Guidance Notes (PPGs), Regional Planning Guidance Notes (RPGs) and Good Practice Guides.
