The Green Charter is the Council’s environmental policy statement, and sets out in broad terms the Council’s basic corporate environmental principles, and the various policies and programmes it is pursuing to achieve sustainable development.
Green Charter grants
The Council has also established a budget to assist local groups and organisations with projects that contribute to Green Charter objectives. It is particularly interested in projects that encourage voluntary group involvement in improving or conserving the local environment; or that raise local awareness about environmental issues.
