What is a microchip?
Micro chips are permanent identification for your pets. The chip is the size of a grain of rice and to implant them is a simple painless procedure. Once the chip has been implanted, your pet can be scanned to reveal the unique identification number, which will be recorded on the 24 hour database with all owners details.
The charge per pet is £15.00.
Throughout the year we hold free monthly microchipping roadshows across the borough.
The microchip campaign has been widely publicised on the Internet, at licensed pet shops, in the borough magazine, in local newspapers at schools and at organised events for residents. We have also visited housing estates where we have the opportunity to discuss other issues ie. Fouling and neutering.
The response from residents has been very encouraging and enthusiasm for this scheme continues.
