Programmes in Valley/Higham Hill have focussed on activities for young people and families.
Neighbourhood improvements so far
- Five days of sporting activities for 5-11 year olds, attended by around 80 children per day
- Two days of arts, crafts and health activities for families
- Breakfast and after-school clubs at Chingford Hall Primary School
- Extended hours for the Chingford Hall CBHA Youth Club from three days per week to five days per week
Current schemes
- Provision of Street Warden service for 6 months in Higham Hill area, and promotion of joint working with Safer Neighbourhoods team on key areas to patrol
- Provision of activities during half term for young people in Higham Hill
- Workshops on arts and crafts and health and fitness in Chingford Hall during the summer holidays
- Resurfacing of the 'kickabout' area behind Chingford Hall Primary School
- Supporting the development of a travel and environmental plan with Chingford Hall Primary School
- Adopt a Street program - project to work in partnership with schools, the local community, street services and street enforcement to maintain and develop an area in Higham Hill
