The borough’s profile brings together statistics about Waltham Forest’s children and young people, and uses data from a wide range of sources on key areas such as educational achievement, teenage pregnancy, youth offending and safeguarding. Our profile also highlights what children, young people and parents have told us.

The purpose of the profile is to use the data and evidence to identify the priorities for the council and its partners, areas where we can do more to improve the lives and opportunities of children, young people and families. These priorities will be reflected in the Children and Young People Plan.

A health needs assessment for children is also being conducted by public health to look at health issues in more depth. This will inform both our profile of children and young people and the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, a document Public Health produces every year on the wider health needs of the population in Waltham Forest.
