Waltham Forest Music Service offers Instrumental and Key-Stage tuition in all the Borough’s Schools. We also offer free workshops to schools and a variety of Music Schools for all children who live or go to school in Waltham Forest.
We always welcome CVs from instrumental and Key Stage music teachers with a view to be added to our pool of experienced staff.
We also welcome any volunteers who wish to work with our students or be part of our Friends Association which we will be setting up in the near future.

Our Services
The Music Service provides music tuition in most of the Borough’s schools. With our staff of more than 50 teachers, we provide tuition in a wide variety of instruments, including all the standard orchestral instruments as well as recorders, piano, keyboard, guitar, percussion and singing. We also offer tuition African drumming. In all of these instruments we cater to the full range of abilities from the absolute beginner to the advanced musician.
In addition to instrumental teaching we also provide classroom based key-stage tuition and piano accompaniment for schools’ assemblies and classroom singing. We also provide conductors for schools’ instrumental and choral ensembles, and can provide support for schools’ musical or operatic productions.
The Music Service has built up an enviable reputation for high instrumental excellence in the Borough for over 30 years. We strive for a high standard of achievement and our well-qualified and dedicated teachers are committed to the development and support of music throughout our schools. Many of them bring professional playing into teaching and experience gained from the highest level with the country’s leading orchestras and ensembles.
