Project information
Belmont Park School, in Leyton, offers places for pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
Belmont Park School provides education that meets the learning needs of its pupils with behaviour, emotional and social difficulties (BESD).
The school has now changed its admission age range, from 11-16 to 9-16 in order to accommodate a further 8 primary age places. This is a result of relocating the EBD inclusion unit previously at Brookfield House School, in Chingford, to Belmont Park School.
The total number of pupils able to attend Belmont has now increased from its current number of 56 to 64, as from September 2009.
As part of the BSF programme it is proposed the school will undergo further developments and improvements to its buildings and facilities, to help accommodate these additional places, for the benefit of pupils and staff.
Project proposals
At this early stage, it is proposed that refurbishment works could include the building of 2 new classrooms, to help accommodate the additional primary places offered, and a new activity studio for pupils.
In addition there are proposals for the possibility of minor extension works to the school’s dining room, as well as an ‘all weather’ multi-use games area for the benefit of pupils and staff.
