Work based learning programmes for young adults aged 16-18

Do you want to get started on your career ladder and become qualified to a nationally recognised standard? Then one of these courses could be for you.
CLaSS offers a choice of work-based learning programmes, pre-Apprenticeship training on the Entry to Employment (E2E) programme and a full Apprenticeship programme. On both programmes you may be eligible for an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) and/or assistance with travel/childcare support/special equipment.
Entry to Employment (E2E)
This programme is a pre-Apprenticeship programme for 16-18 year olds. Tasters in different types of work are offered with learning support. You will also work towards a Key Skill qualification and/or Technical Certificate in your chosen vocational area. The aim of this programme is for all learners to progress onto the Apprenticeship programme or employment.
You will be required to sit an initial assessment and attend an interview to demonstrate your ability and commitment to complete the programme.

Apprenticeships
These courses are designed by national employment organisations for motivated young adults who want to complete an Apprenticeship whilst gaining work experience in their chosen profession. All courses are full time and comprise of work placement and day release. Your achievement will be based on continuous assessment.
All Apprenticeship frameworks include:
- A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at level 2
- A Technical Certificate that includes Employment Rights and Responsibilities
- Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number
You will need to demonstrate evidence of having GCSE A*-C in both Maths and English or equivalent. You will also be required to sit an initial assessment and attend an interview to demonstrate commitment and ability to complete the programme.
Apprenticeships are aimed at 16-18 year olds, but there are a small number of places on these courses for 19-24 year olds.
