What is the Access 2 Services programme?

We offer a variety of ways for you to access services - the phone, website, smartcards, shops and other public premises. Part of the Access 2 Services programme will look at individual services and how they are accessed, with a view to making all contact more efficient.

The first project to be completed is the redesign of the council website, which was launched in December. The new site includes more information about our services, and many requests for council services can now be done online, saving you time and journeys to council offices.

Further projects will build on using technology to improve access for citizens, including the next phase of the OneCard smartcard project. We are also working with BT to provide wireless internet access in key parts of the borough.
