The Deputy Mayor, Cllr Peter Woollcott

Councillor Peter Woollcott has lived in Walthamstow in Waltham Forest for all of his life. He entered politics to help residents solve their local problems and make Waltham Forest a better place to live, work and play.

Councillor Woollcott was first elected in May 1998 and represents Higham Hill Ward. He is a member of the Transport Liaison Consultative Group, Audit and Governance Committee, Licensing Committee and Asham Homes.

He has also held positions as School Governor for Chapel End Junior School and Vice President of Waltham Forest South Scout Association.  

Councillor Woollcott looks forward to supporting the Mayor in fundraising events and helping her make a real difference to the lives of the Borough’s residents.

Until recently, Councillor Woollcott was an engineer/draughtsman in the mechanical engineering services industry.      

He has many interests including gardening, transport, cricket and home improvements. Councillor Peter Woollcott enjoys spending time with his family. He has been married to his wife Margaret for 43 years and has two sons, Michael who is a fire fighter and Neil, a deputy head teacher.
