As of 1st April 2005, changes to Council Tax rules will affect the amount of Council Tax that you pay if you own an empty property or second home in Waltham Forest.

Empty Properties

  • If your property is empty and furnished, then your discount will be reduced to 10%.
  • If your property is empty and unfurnished you will no longer be entitled to a 50% discount after any exemption has expired.

Second Home

  • From 1st April 2005, your discount will be reduced to 10%.

Your new bill in April will reflect these changes.
