Ward funding
Leyton Residents Forum has £10,000 to spend in 2011-12 on projects that will benefit residents' lives and/or will improve Leyton.
At the next Residents Forum on Thursday 8 December 2011, your ward councillors will discuss residents' suggestions submitted to date. Please note that the deadline for submitting your ideas /suggestions has closed.
Your ward councillors however are happy to look at suggestions that are submitted prior to 8 December 2011. This is in instances where a resident deems such suggestion of particular interest. Please submit such suggestion by e-mail to your ward councillors.

Community First Panel - Volunteers needed
Leyton ward has been offered £33, 910 through a Central Goverment initiative known as the Community First grant programme. The programme offers funds to deprived wards. The programme dictates that the fund is spent on projects that benefit the ward and are needed in the ward. The first step in the process is to set up a Community First Panel, which will consist of four to eight people, who are residents of Leyton ward. Please see the Community First Guidance notes for more details.
Please contact your Ward councillors if you are interested in being a panel member or would like to nominate someone else as a panel member. Panel members must be a residents of Leyton ward.
Community messaging service from the Metropolitan Police
Neighbourhood Link is a community messaging service from the Metropolitan Police Service that provides news and information about policing activity or initiatives, crime prevention advice as well as major incidents affecting your area.

Your first Leyton Residents Forum
The first Leyton Residents Forum was held on Thursday 19 May 2011 at the Score Centre, 100 Oliver Road, E10. There was an update about Olympic activities in the Leyton area from a Council Officer and an update about Police activities in Leyton from the Leyton Police Team (Safer Neighbourhood Team).
Ideas on how to spend the Leyton Residents Forum's funding and other local issues were also discussed.

Your second Leyton Residents Forum
The second Leyton Residents Forum was held on Wednesday 7 September 2011 at Leyton Cricket Ground, High Road, Leyton, E10. There was a presentation on the Council's options for the future of library services. There was also an update by officers of the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) on the recent riots, of police activities in the ward and of a minor re-structuring within the SNT.
Also at the Forum, there was the election of Leyton ward's nominee to the Leyton Sports Ground management committee, an update on residents' suggestions gathered and a community discussion of local issues.

Your third Leyton Residents Forum
The third Leyton Residents Forum was held on Thursday 8 December 2011at Seddon Centre, 33 Clyde Place, Leyton, E10. There was a presentation about the Councils new waste collection contract. There were also updates from the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) about police activities in the ward and from the Leyton Ward representative, Peter Towler about the Leyton Sports Ground management committee.
Also at the Forum, there were discussions about the 2011/12 ward funding, a community discussion about local issues and about the Community First grant programme that was made available to Leyton Ward (the Community First programme is a grant provided by central government to deprived Wards).
