Recent successes
A resident expressed concern that the free parking permit given to Health Workers had been taken away, resulting in major problems for health workers when they were visiting clients, as they were often forced to park at a considerable distance from their client’s home.
The resident requested that the Community Council look into the matter to see if a solution could be found considering that so many older people live in the area.
Street Services investigated the matter and advised the Community Council that essential car users in the PCT would be issued with Essential User Permits.
There had been some confusion amongst staff concerning the application process and qualifying factors, which had now been clarified, and health workers visiting clients at home regularly would be classed as essential car users and be issued with the new permits free of charge.

Tony Arundel informed residents at the meeting that two wardens had been added to the team to work together with Environmental Services. Two other wardens have organised trainings to tackle bullying at school. Also, the team was planning to work with the local libraries and schools.
