LEA Post OfSTED Action plan (doc) (pdf)

The LEA is required to produce an Action Plan which covers the 14 recommendations set out in the OfSted Inspection Report. The Plan has to be submitted to the DfES by 23rd April, 2003. Cabinet was asked to agreed the draft plan as the basis of consultation with key stakeholders.

The proposals attached relate principally to:

• the discontinuation and re - designation of specific special schools;
• changes to aspects of pupil admissions in special and mainstream schools;
• improvements to central educational support services; and
• changes in the balance of funding between special and mainstream schools.
