You can now telephone us 24 hours a day, 7 days per week for most straightforward queries.
During busy periods, a queuing system will be used. You can also leave a message and we will get back to you within 24 hours. Alternatively you may prefer to phone back later when it is less busy.

You can visit us
Customers needing advice on housing benefits and Council Tax can now visit any of the borough's three Waltham Forest Direct (WFD) shops located in Leyton. Leytonstone and Walthamstow.
Opening Hours
You can call in anytime between 8.30am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am - 1pm on Saturday. There are no Housing Benefit officers at the shops on Saturday but you can drop off evidence and make general enquiries
Access details
- WFD Shops are all fully accessible for people with mobility disabilities, including wheelchair users with ramped/level access, wide doors, and fully accessible toilets
- There is an Induction Loop for hearing aid users
- Access to a BSL Sign Language interpreter if needed
