Purchase / replacement of Birth, Death, Marriage or Civil Partnership Certificates
Q. How do I get a replacement certificate?
A. If the Birth, Death, Marriage or Civil Partnership took place in Waltham Forest then a replacement certificate can be obtained at our premises located at the following address:

A next day collection service will be provided Monday to Friday. Personal application payments is by cash or cheque only payable to London Borough of Waltham Forest. You can also write in to us at the above address, enclosing the appropriate payment and providing the details required to identify the correct certificate as below.
Birth certificate
- Person’s full name at birth
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- It would also help to have the parent’s full names too
Death certificate
- Deceased’s full name
- Date of death
- Place of death
- It would also help to have the deceased’s full date of birth and occupation
Marriage / civil partnership
- Couple’s full names at the time of the union
- Date of Marriage or Civil Partnership
Q. How much does a replacement certificate cost?
A. All certificates issued for next day collection will cost £12 each. All other applications are the statutory fees of £9.We accept cash, cheque and Postal Orders (made payable to LBWF)
Booking appointments to register a birth or death or give Notice of Marriage / Civil Partnership
Q. How do I book an appointment to give a Notice of Marriage or Civil Partnership?
A. You can book an appointment using any of the methods outlined below. We offer a limited walk in service but you must telephone the Register Office who will give you the time to come in.
If you reside in the London Borough of Waltham Forest and you hold a EEA Passport you will need to give notice with us. If this does not apply to you please go to our main Register Office for more information.
Q. How do I book an appointment to register a birth or death?
A. Please remember that the birth or death needs to have taken place in The London Borough of Waltham Forest for us to be able to register it at our Register Office. For births or deaths that took place outside Waltham Forest, please contact us for advice.

A. Yes, we provide a comprehensive checking service approved by the Home Office to help you to complete your application for British Citizenship. Further information is available on the main Register Office page.

A. Our schedule of fees is shown below:
