We register births and deaths, and issue certified copies of birth, marriage and death entries. Our records go back to 1837, when civil registrations were first introduced. Please contact the Register Office if you would like more information about obtaining certified copies of entries.
Our Registrars are on hand to help you at this difficult time through the registration of a death. Our staff see all personal callers at the Register Office on arrival.
Registration of births and deaths are currently only available by appointment. Please contact the Register Office to make an appointment.
Please arrive and book in reception at least 10 minutes before your appointment time. There are parking restrictions in the area and you may find it difficult to find a parking space. If you are more than 5 minutes late, your appointment will be re-scheduled.
Alternatively you can make an yourself using our online Register Office ebookings system. This service cannot be used for Saturday bookings. These can be made by calling 020 8496 3000.
