Emergency contact details

If you require the services of the Superintendent Registrar in an emergency for a Registrar Generals Licence Marriage outside of office hours, please telephone Waltham Forest Direct on 020 8496 3000.

If you require the services of a Registrar to issue an authority to allow a burial to take place in an emergency (usually for Jewish or Muslim deaths), this service is available from the Register Office on a Saturday morning.

On a Sunday morning or Bank Holiday, the service is available ONLY between 9am and 11am by telephoning Waltham Forest Direct on 020 8496 3000.
