Registering a birth
Registration of births and deaths are currently only available by appointment. Please contact the Register Office to make an appointment.
Alternatively you can make an appointment yourself using our online Register Office ebookings system.
This service cannot be used for a Saturday booking. These can be made by calling 020 8496 3000.
Please arrive and book in reception at least 10 minutes before your appointment time.
From 31 October, parking around the Register Office will be residents only.
You are advised to make your own arrangements as we will not be held responsible if you are late for your appointment and have to be re-booked.
There is a minimart close to the Register Office on Grove Road where you will be able to purchase parking permits.

We register births and deaths and issue certified copies of birth, marriage and death entries. Our records go back to 1837, when civil registrations were first introduced.
We can also advise you how to obtain a birth certificate if you were born elsewhere, if you were adopted, or born abroad.(UK Nationals only)
