The Council has decided to cease providing the Interpretation, Translation and Transcription Services (WFiTTS).  Whilst this in-house service will cease, the Council will still meet its obligations in providing an interpreter, or translated materials if you need one.  You should make your needs known when you first make contact with the Council.

This decision has not been taken lightly and a considerable amount of research and consultation has taken place before making it.  WFiTTS was implemented over 15 years ago and was the first of its kind at that time.  Over the years the service has been very successful, but recently there has been a significant decline in bookings and a service review has shown that a number of our key clients have chosen to either provide their own interpretation services, or use an alternative supplier, in what has become a highly competitive and mature market.

Unfortunately, the loss of these clients has meant that WFiTTS is no longer financially viable and we must seek an alternative way of supplying this important service.  We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
