About the course
This is a joint training initiative with the London Borough of Waltham Forest, London Borough of Redbridge, the North East London Mental Health Trust and the Redbridge Primary Care Trust.
It is a half-day course, which will give staff an understanding of:
- The issues of abuse and potential abuse of vulnerable adults
- Prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults
- Staff responsibilities and relevant legislation
There will be a workbook that gives further information and practical exercises for staff to complete back in the work place*. This will be able to be linked directly to the NVQ in Care, Skills for Care Induction and Foundation, and LDAF.

Please note: This course has been designed to deliver a high level of content in each 3-hour session. Registration for the morning course is at 09.15am (10.15am LBR) and for the afternoon course at 1.15pm (2.15pm LBR). Each course will start promptly at 09:30am (10:30am LBR) for the morning course and 1:30pm (2:30pm LBR). Any delegate who arrives after the start time will be refused admission to the course. This is to minimise disruption and ensures a good learning environment for both the delegates and the trainer.
