Official launch event - Friday 30 March 2007
On the 30 March 2007 Waltham Forest Council launched ‘Partners’ to help it further improve the standard of care for vulnerable people by forming a groundbreaking new partnership with them.
'Partners' will work by getting workers from the voluntary, statutory and independent sectors in Waltham Forest to meet regularly to share information, good practice and resources to improve the way vulnerable adults are looked after.
The scheme was launched at Walthamstow Assembly Hall when members of the new initiative met to discuss the best way forward.
Waltham Forest Council's Cabinet Member for Health, Adults and Older People, Cllr Liz Phillips, said:
"We are committed to consistently improving the quality of service we offer our vulnerable elderly residents.
"This initiative is a splendid way of ensuring that the people who know our clients best - their carers - can contribute to the very important discussion on how we can best protect their interests and deliver excellent standards of care."
To date Partners has secured TSIF funding of £20,925.
