London Child Protection Procedures 2007
The latest expanded version of the London Child Protection Procedures are available from the London Safeguarding Children Board (www.londonscb.gov.uk). However, as their website seems to be struggling with the demand, we are temporarily hosting the procedures for local agencies on this page, together with other useful resources relating to the procedures.
Project Azure: Female Genital Mutilation
For the second year running, the Met are running an awareness campaign around Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The Summer holidays have been identified as the time that girls are sent to countries that practice FGM or have the procedure carried out in the UK. This highly dangerous and emotionally damaging practice is illegal and is clearly a form of child abuse. The LSCB is developing a strategy to raise awareness among professionals in time for the holiday period.

Arrangements for replacing the Child Protection Register
From 1 January, in line with statutory guidance in 'Working Together', we will no longer maintain a Child Protection Register. This page contains important information for all professionals about the new arrangements for safeguarding children at risk of serious harm.
