If you have a mental health problem or need that you are unable to resolve the Locality Mental Health Service will be able to provide a Community Care Assessment and arrange services to help you live in the community.
Who can have this service?
- you should live in Waltham Forest, and be aged 18 or over
- have a severe and long lasting mental health need, or
- are a carer of someone with a severe mental health need
Will I have to pay towards this service?
No. However, some of the services we may provide as a result of your Community Care Assessment may be charged for. See Community Care Charges for details.
Who provides this service?
The Locality Mental Health Teams have staff from both Waltham Forest Social Services and Forest (NHS) Healthcare Trust - social workers and health staff.
How to get this service
There are two Locality Mental Health Teams for people aged 18 to 64. There is also a Team for People aged 65 and over (this is based in two offices). Staff in these teams will give you advice on the best services for you or the person you are caring for.
