What do we provide?

For more information about Occupational Therapy please download the information booklet  (PDF File 259KB)

Occupational therapists aim to improve the quality of people's lives by enabling them to be more independent in their day-to-day living.

  • We work with people in their homes or day centres to help them gain or develop skills
  • We assess the person's difficulties, needs and concerns around:
    • Personal care e.g. washing and dressing
    • Domestic tasks e.g. housework and cooking
    • Community and leisure activities e.g. using public transport or using the swimming pool
    • Work and vocational skills e.g. sheltered employment and training
  • We then discuss and plan ways of working towards possible solutions and of overcoming the effects of their disability
