Services we provide

We aim to provide good quality hot food, delivered at the correct temperature, once a day (between 11.30am-2.30pm), every day of the year. Meals can be provided on a short or long term basis according to need. We aim to provide meals for a range of dietary needs, including Caribbean, English, kosher, halal and wheat-free food.

Who can have this service?

You should live in Waltham Forest and would be subject to an assessment of need.

Will I have to pay for this service?

Yes. The standard price of a meal is currently £3.15 (subject to annual increase). There are a number of methods of payment:

  • You can buy vouchers from the Post Office
  • We can invoice you monthly
  • You can pay by standing order
  • You can pay via the online payments section of our website
  • You can call Waltham Forest Direct on 020 8496 3000 to make a credit or debit card payment

Other information

If a meal is supplied hot, we recommend that it should be eaten as soon as it is delivered to ensure optimum quality and safety. No part of a hot meal should be reheated or saved for later in the day.
