If you are experiencing problems because of your use of drugs or alcohol and have made a decision to do something about this, there are services which can help. Staff can help you look at reasons why drugs and alcohol are affecting your life and how to regain control.

Who can have these services?

  • you should live in Waltham Forest
  • have a Community Care Assessment which shows you need this service
  • you want to do something about your alcohol or drug problem

Rehabilitation service

If you need help to stop using drugs or have a serious alcohol problem you may need to spend some time away from home in order to get help.

  • you may be able to get help to look at the reasons for your drug or alcohol use
  • it can help you look at ways to deal with stress which do not involve drugs or alcohol
  • it can help you return to the community and remain drug free, not drinking or controlling your drinking

Who can have this service?

  • you must be at least 18 years of age and normally live in Waltham Forest
  • you will need to have been assessed by the Community Drugs and Alcohol Team, Social Worker or Probation officer as needing this service

Will I have to pay towards this service?

We do charge for this service. We will tell you how much this is likely to be (if at all) as part of your Community Care Assessment. See Community Care Charges for details.

How to get this service

If you have children who need to go with you, one of our Children and Families Social Workers will need to assess your family’s needs. Contact one of our local Social Services Offices.
