  • Identifying employers who are recruiting people with similar skills
  • Signposting customers to local recruitment agencies who are experts in a particular profession, such as the financial sector or health care
  • Advice and guidance seminars run by HMRC, for example on Tax Credits and moving to becoming self-employed

WorkNet Partnership Programme can offer each individual tailored support through an Outreach Advisor. They will create an action plan that will identify any requirements you have to help you access work (such as debt advice, ESOL, childcare, training, job brokerage). They can also help ‘fast track’ you into existing jobs where there is a skills match and/or provide you with a range of training and other integrated services.

JobCentre Plus can also organise tailored visits to businesses with the CSP/WorkNet team to advise employers and employees about future employment opportunities. Even in an economic downturn, many jobs are still available. Meanwhile, JCP will help by paying you benefits, and by helping you look for work or learn new skills.

If you are still unemployed after six months, Jobcentre Plus may be able to offer you extra support, including help to set up a business, new training places, volunteering options, or an employer recruitment subsidy.
