Host boroughs

Waltham Forest is one of the six east London host boroughs for the 2012 Games, along with Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Barking and Dagenham. The Olympic Park sits across the borders of Waltham Forest, Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets, and Greenwich will host several events in existing and temporary venues.

LOCOG

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) is responsible for preparing and staging the 2012 Games.

OPLC

The Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) is the company that has responsibility for the Olympic Park after the 2012 Games.

DCMS

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) leads for the Government on the delivery of the Games. It is responsible for the London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Act 2006, the overall finances of the Games, and sponsorship of the Olympic Delivery Authority.

GLA

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, works with the Greater London Authority (GLA) Group to ensure Londoners get the most possible benefit from the 2012 Games.
