Tour the Olympic Park

London 2012 offers free bus tours of the Olympic Park to give members of the public the opportunity to see first hand the work that is progressing for the 2012 Games.

The tour will give you the chance to see the exciting transformation taking place on our doorstep. You will see the major venues taking shape, including the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre, as well as developments on the Eton Manor site in Leyton.

Tour dates

Tours are currently fully booked.  It is recommended that you contact London 2012 to find out when tours will become available or if there are any cancellations.

When tours become available, they generally run on Saturdays and Sundays at 9.30am, 11am, 1.30pm and 3pm.

All tours last an hour and start and finish at the Olympic accreditation hut, which is approximately five minutes walk from Pudding Mill Lane Docklands Light Railway Station.

How to book

Call the booking line on 0300 2012 001 from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.

Security and restrictions

There is strict security in place on the Olympic Park, and all guests will need to provide photographic ID in the form of a passport or a valid driver’s license. For safety reasons, all visits have a minimum age restriction of 8 years old.

If you are unable to get on a tour of the Olympic Park, there are a number of other ways you can experience the Olympic Park ahead of Games-time:

View Tube

The View Tube is a social enterprise and community venue located on The Greenway adjacent to the Olympic Park. The View Tube offers a good view of the Olympic Park with public maps for information about the view. It includes a café, education, arts and information spaces with a panoramic view over the Olympic Park and Stratford City.

Olympic Park Audio Tour

If you are unable to book a place on an ODA bus tour of the Olympic Park, an audio tour will give you in-depth and up-to-date information about the Olympic Park and the new London 2012 venues, while bringing to life the excitement of the Games. Recently created by the ODA, it's designed to be listened to on an MP3 player as you walk along The Greenway, a walkway overlooking the Olympic Park from where you can see the new venues and parklands for yourself.
