The Olympic Park will cover 500 acres, and will be the biggest new urban park created In Europe for over 150 years.

Eton Manor

Eton Manor in Leyton forms the northern part of the Olympic Park, and is the part of the Park that falls within the Waltham Forest borough boundary. After 2012, Waltham Forest will have brand new facilities for community and elite use.

The Hockey Centre is being developed in partnership with England Hockey, and will have two international standard hockey pitches. It will be available for community use as well as international competitions, and will have capacity for 3,000 spectators.

The Tennis Centre will have four indoor and six outdoor courts as well as ten five-a-side football pitches. This venue will become a regional centre for disability tennis and a centre for tennis development in legacy.

Mountain bike trails will extend onto Eton Manor from the neighbouring Velopark.

The Lee Valley Regional Park Authority will own, fund and manage the Eton Manor facilities in legacy.

Olympic Park Legacy Company

The Olympic Park Legacy Company is responsible for the long term planning, development, management and maintenance of the Olympic Park and its facilities after the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Company aims to create a lasting legacy by developing the Park to become, in time, a new and prosperous metropolitan area of the city.

By using the energy of and investment in the Games and its sporting legacy, the Park will become a ’must see, must return’ destination, focused on vibrant communities, world renowned sporting facilities , public parklands and open spaces.
