Tickets

Tickets for both the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games went on sale in 2011.  A small number of tickets are still available and will go on sale later this year.  For further information, visit the London 2012 website.

Each ticket includes free travel on public transport in London for the day of the event, to encourage spectators to use the transport system and take in the festivities throughout the city.

Some events will be free to watch such as Road Cycling, Triathlon and Marathon. These events take place in the streets of London, where spectators can line the route.

Transport during the Games

The organisers of London 2012 are aiming for 100% of spectators to get to the Games by public transport, or by walking or cycling.

Excellent public transport links will be provided to the Games including London Underground, London Overground, Docklands Light Rail, National Rail services and local bus services. Each ticket sold will include free travel in London for the day of the event to encourage the use of public transport.

Private vehicles will be discouraged and facilities will not be provided for parking (except for disabled access).

Olympic Route Network

The Olympic Route Network (ORN) will ensure that the people who play a part in making the Games happen can get to their events quickly, safely and reliably. The ORN will consist of existing roads around London and the UK. It will link all competition venues and also key non-competition venues, such as accommodation.

You can find out more about the ORN on the London 2012 website

Eton Manor

Eton Manor in Leyton forms the northern part of the Olympic Park, and falls within the Waltham Forest borough boundary.

During the Olympic Games the area will house three Olympic-size swimming pools, one synchronised swimming pool and one water polo pool. These pools will be used for athlete training.

During the Paralympic Games, Eton Manor will host the Wheelchair Tennis events, with temporary seating for 10,500 spectators.

Eton Manor will be transformed to provide brand new facilities for the local community after the Games.
