Claim benefit or report changes in circumstances by phone

You can now make a claim for housing benefit and/or council tax benefit, or report a change in circumstances by phone. Just call the Benefits Service on 020 8496 8550 during normal working hours, 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. (This number is only for claiming benefit or telling us about a change in your circumstances.). This service is available Monday - Friday, between 9am-5pm.
