Report fly tipping

Last updated 4 April 2013

The Council has responsibility for acting on reports of flytipping to both remove the waste and to locate and prosecute the offenders. Where the waste is hazardous the Council has a responsibility to ensure public safety until such time as the waste can be removed.

Report fly tipping

Report flytipping online.

If you are unable to complete the online form then please call Waltham Forest Direct on 020 8496 3000.

It would be helpful if you could let us know:

  • Where the rubbish has been dumped
  • Roughly how much, and
  • What it contains

All information will be treated confidentially.

The Council aims to clear dumped rubbish from public land within 24 hours of it being reported to us.

We take action against fly-tippers by gathering evidence to prosecute them and fines of up to £50,000 can be issued.

On private land it is the responsibility of the owner or occupier of the land to have fly tipping cleared. The Council can serve legal notice on the owner or occupier to ensure that this occurs.

Bulky waste collection service

The Council has a free bulky waste collection service.

Each household can have an unlimited number of free collections, but each collection must be made up of no more than 5 items.
