Shops, factories and other businesses have a Duty of Care under Section 34 of The Environmental Protection Act 1990 to dispose of their waste through authorised trade waste collection services and must be able to prove this. You need to have a contract either with Waltham Forest or a recognised waste management organisation to dispose of your trade waste. The maximum fine for dumping rubbish is £20,000 and/or 6 months imprisonment.

Domestic waste is collected within costs covered under the domestic rate. This is not the case with shops, factories and other businesses under the non-domestic rating system.
