Food safety standards

Ensuring standards are maintained in all aspect of food production and distribution, animal health and agriculture. This may involve inspections, investigation of complaints and enforcement.

Food Safety Level 2 Award

Our course is designed to provide the ideal introduction to food hygiene for anyone who works, or is planning to work, in a food business. We are a training centre for the CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Food poisoning
  • Personal hygiene
  • Food storage and temperature control
  • Food preparation, cooking and cooling
  • Cleaning
  • Pest control
  • Food law

The food safety courses consist of 2 half day sessions. There will be a short multiple choice test at the end of the course and candidates must attend both sessions of the course to sit the exam.. All those who are successful will receive a signed certificate issued by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

This course costs £80 (£70 if you book more than 1 place). Places must be booked and paid for in advance.
