Report abandoned vehicles
The local council will deal with any vehicles reported as abandoned on local roads or property (usually including private property). The vehicle will be removed.
If you see a vehicle which you think is abandoned, here are some points which may help you decide:
- Is it displaying a valid tax disc?
- How long has it been there?
- What is the condition of the vehicle?
- Has it any broken windows?
- Is there rubbish / leaves around the vehicle?
If you are unsure, report it anyway to Waltham Forest Direct on 020 8496 3000 or use the online form and an officer will inspect the vehicle within 24 hours (excluding weekends) and decide if the vehicle is abandoned and whether it will be removed from the highway.
If your vehicle has been removed under the abandonment legislation and put in storage at our contractor's pound, the following release fees are applicable:
- £200 for removal
- £40 per day storage (and any part day)
Please ring Redcorn Ltd on 020 885 1962 during the hours 8am-5pm (Monday-Friday).
